Compost: Uses and Benefits
"Add Value to your Erosion Control and Landscape Project"
The MNCC is please to announce its workshop on the use of compost and its benefits to your landscape and storm water project. The program will feature:
Professor Thomas Halbach from the U of MN's Department of Soil, Water and Climate speaking on the importance of organics in soil,
Dr. Britt Faucette presenting his research on the use of compost in erosion control projects,
Mr. Derrick Asche presenting projects completed by the City of Plymouth that used compost,
Mr. Mike Isness of the Washington County Conservation District and the Middle St. Croix WMO's presenting research on phosphorus issues,
Mr. Dwayne Stenlund of MNDoT presenting MNDoT projects that have used a variety of compost products
Ms. Heidi Ringhofer of WLSSD presenting on the production of compost and the difference between compost and mulch, and
Mr. Al Rattie Acting Director of the US Composting Council presenting on programs developed by the US Composting Council to encourage the use of compost in storm water and erosion control project.

Time: 8:00 - 9:00 registration; Program 9:00 - 3:00
Cost: $70 for MNCC Members; $95 non-member rates
A minimum of 0.5 CEU's will be available to landscape architects.
