Friday June 5, 2015 All Day

posted by Webmaster

Get out your calendars and mark Friday, June 5, 2015 as the date for our bi-annual spring WSPSS meeting. It will be an educational day starting with a tour of a WI certified soil testing laboratory, the Rock River Laboratory. Most of us talk soil sampling as a regular and important component of our jobs and the basis of our conservation planning. Yet, how many of you have actually ever been to a soils lab to see how it is done? Well, here’s your chance! The tour is scheduled to start at 9:00 Friday, June 5 at the Rock River Laboratory (710 Commerce Dr. P.O. Box 169 Watertown, WI 53094-0169, 920-261-0446).

Since 1975, Rock River Laboratory has provided reliable, accurate, and timely feed, forage, soil, and water analyses to the agricultural community throughout the US, and more recently, across the globe. Rock River Laboratory is certified by the National Forage Testing Association, Farm Service Agency, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection, a member of the Midwest Lab Consortium, and participant in numerous check-sample programs. They offer a host of testing services including soils, water, feed and plant tissue testing. Their expert staff and advanced facilities are designed to offer a complete line of accurate, cost effective and timely analytical results to their clients, while providing unsurpassed customer service.

Following the tour we will meet at the Lower Pavilion in Riverside Park in Watertown (see attachment) for a catered lunch at noon with the meeting to follow. To get an accurate head count for lunch please RSVP by May 11 to Karla Petges at karla.petges@wi.usda.gov or 920-386-9999 X-136.

Also, please submit topics for discussion and any other item of interest for the meeting agenda to me at kathy.eggers@wi.usda.gov.

Hope to see you there.
